Football Queensland has today announced the Queensland squads for the 2024 National Futsal Championships which will be held on the Gold Coast from Friday, 5 January to Tuesday, 9 January 2024 in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland and Experience Gold Coast.
The national tournament will provide a unique opportunity for Queensland state team players to represent the state on home soil for the first time in 17 years as Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre plays host to the tournament.
“Football Queensland is delighted to announce the players who will represent Queensland at the 2024 National Futsal Championships, which returns to our state in January for the first time since 2006 in a hugely exciting milestone for our game,” FQ Manager – Futsal Vince Sciacca said.
“Following the incredible success of our Queensland squads at this year’s tournament, where all 12 teams reached the Semi Finals and five teams secured national titles, our state team players will be eager to showcase their skills on the national stage as they vie for top honours again in 2024.
“The FQ Futsal State Titles played a crucial role in the state team selection process again this year, with the state’s most talented male and female players earning selection for the 2024 National Futsal Championships across 16 Queensland squads.
“We’re also pleased to have appointed a group of highly skilled coaches to lead our junior and senior state teams for the upcoming tournament.
“On behalf of Football Queensland, congratulations to each of the players selected to represent Queensland at the 2024 National Futsal Championships; our whole state will be behind you as we welcome teams from across the country to the beautiful Gold Coast in January.”
