2024 National Futsal Championships Day 4 Wrap

Everything was on the line today as Day 4 of the National Futsal Championships brought skills, thrills and nail-biting finishes with final group stage matches, Quarter Finals and Semi Finals played across each age group.

405 goals were scored throughout 55 matches, with a host of penalty shootouts required to separate the closest of teams, while Football NSW and Football Queensland ended the day with 63% win rates, the highest of all Member Federations.

After a hugely successful day on the pitch, 12 Football NSW teams and eight Football Queensland sides have qualified for tomorrow’s Grand Finals alongside teams from Capital Football and Football Victoria.

Football Queensland sides came out firing in the Under 12 Boys Quarter Finals as Football Queensland Maroon claimed a 9-0 win over Football SA and Football Queensland White defeated Football Victoria 14-0.

Football NSW Thunder and Football NSW Country also secured a spot in the Semi Finals thanks to wins over Capital Football and Football West respectively, before Football Queensland took out both Semi Finals against Football NSW opposition.

Football Queensland Maroon will meet Football Queensland White tomorrow as the state opponents go head-to-head for the national title in the Under 12 Boys Grand Final.

Football Queensland, Football NSW Metro and Football West each secured Round 7 wins on Day 4 to book their spot in the Under 13 Boys Semi Finals alongside Football Victoria.

In the Semi Finals, Football NSW Metro fell to defeat at the hands of Football Queensland in a tight 8-6 clash, while Football Victoria booked their spot in the Grand Final with a 10-6 win over Football West.

Two of Football NSW’s three Under 13 Girls sides secured Quarter Final wins on Day 4 as Football NSW Thunder defeated Football SA Red 6-1 and Football NSW Lightning claimed a 6-0 win over Football West.

Football Queensland Maroon came out on top against their state counterparts Football Queensland White with a 3-2 win, while Capital Football defeated Football NSW Country 7-2 in the remaining Quarter Final.

The Under 13 Girls Semi Finals saw Football NSW Thunder and Capital Football book their spot in the Grand Final with wins against Football Queensland Maroon (4-3) and Football NSW Lightning (3-1) respectively.

Football NSW sides started strong on Day 4 in the Under 14 Boys as Football NSW Country claimed a 14-2 Quarter Final win over Capital Football while Football NSW Thunder defeated Football NSW Lightning 6-1.

Football Queensland put on a dominant performance in the Quarter Finals, putting 11 goals past Football Victoria, and Football West also secured a 6-1 Quarter Final win against Football South Australia.

Football NSW Country and Football Queensland booked their spot in the Grand Final, defeating Football NSW Thunder (5-3) and Football West (4-3) respectively, while Football SA and Football NSW Lightning secured wins in their lower ladder play-offs.

Football NSW Metro, Capital Football and Football NSW Country recorded Round 7 wins in the Under 15 Boys today before Capital Football and Football NSW Metro went on to claim Semi Final victories against Football West (6-0) and Football Queensland (3-2) respectively, booking their spots in the Grand Final.

Football SA, Football NSW Lightning and Football Queensland secured Round 7 wins on Day 4 in the Under 15 Girls.

An all-NSW Grand Final now awaits after Football NSW Thunder handed Football SA a 4-0 loss in the Semi Finals and Football NSW Lightning claimed a 4-1 Semi Final win over Capital Football.

Football Queensland and Football NSW Metro set up a Grand Final showdown in the Under 16 Boys as Football Queensland defeated Football NSW Country 3-0 and Football NSW Metro beat Football Tasmania 6-1 in their Semi Final clashes.

Football NSW Country and Football Queensland will meet in the Under 17 Girls Grand Final after Football NSW Country defeated fellow state side Football NSW Metro in a close 2-1 Semi Final and Football Queensland handed Capital Football a 5-2 loss.

Football Queensland made it two wins from two in the Youth Men Semi Finals, setting up an unmissable all-NSW Grand Final as Football NSW Thunder beat Football West 4-2 and Football Queensland fell to a 6-4 defeat at the hands of Football NSW Lightning.

Capital Football Cobras put eight goals past their fellow state side Capital Football Colts in the Open Women Quarter Finals, while Football NSW Thunder defeated Football Victoria Evolution and Football Queensland Maroon came out on top against Football NSW Lightning.

Football Queensland White sealed their place in the Semi Finals thanks to a 3-2 win on penalties against Football Victoria Fitzroy, before falling to defeat at the hands of Football Queensland Maroon in the Semi Finals.

Football NSW Thunder claimed a Semi Final win over Capital Football Cobras to set up a meeting with Football Queensland Maroon in the Open Women Grand Final.

Capital Football and Football NSW Thunder recorded strong Quarter Final wins in the Open Men as they defeated Football NSW Lightning 11-5 and Football Queensland 7-0 respectively.

In Football West’s state v state Quarter Final, Football West Fremantle handed Football West Cumbre a 4-2 loss while the all-Victoria clash saw Football Victoria Moreland narrowly defeat Football Victoria Fitzroy.

Football Victoria Fitzroy will now face Football NSW Thunder in tomorrow’s Grand Final after securing a 3-2 Semi Final win against Capital Football, while Football West Fremantle fell just short in their Semi Final with a 2-0 defeat against Football NSW Thunder.

Football Victoria will meet Football Queensland Maroon in the AWD Mixed Grand Final after defeating Football NSW Thunder 4-3 on penalties in a thrilling Semi Final clash which saw scores locked at 2-2 after extra time.

In the all-Queensland Semi Final, Football Queensland Maroon came out on top as they sealed a 16-4 win over Football Queensland White.
